The SEAD Computer Working Group recently completed a computer energy efficiency project that provides policymakers with insights on voluntary and mandatory initiatives. The reports assist policymakers as they develop computer energy efficiency measures.
The project was launched in two stages. First, it identified how major initiatives around the world address energy efficiency of computers. The second phase of the project turns toward the future by identifying which aspects of computer energy usage need to be addressed and how lessons from the development of past mandatory measures can be used to support the development of future mandatory measures. The second SEAD Computer Working Group project includes five Task Reports and two Decision Support Tools.
