Commercial and residential fridges have a 24-hour power cycle, consuming electricity around the clock. SEAD Initiative analyses determined that increasing the efficiency of commercial and residential fridges in participating SEAD economies and China would eliminate the need for 80 medium-sized power plants, and reduce annual CO2 emissions by a total of 149 million tons.
