SEAD actively works with policymakers, manufacturers and researchers to develop product energy-efficiency standards and labeling (S&L) programs to reduce the energy consumption of specific appliances, equipment, lighting, and other devices.
The SEAD Initiative also promotes and supports the procurement of energy-efficient products worldwide, supporting policymakers by conducting product-specific technical analyses and research studies; sharing best procurement practices; and evaluating “green” public procurement programs.
Seventeen governments participate in The SEAD Initiative to accelerate and strengthen the implementation of S&L programs around the world.
