SEAD AC Webinar - Seasonal Metrics and Climate Zones
Add To Personal Calendar
November 26, 2013
The first SEAD AC webinar consisted of two presentations, intended to inform government representatives and technical experts interested or working on (1) a seasonal metric (such as a seasonal energy efficiency ratio or SEER) for AC efficiency, as well as related issues such as the new ISO 16358 test procedure; and (2) climate zones for ACs and air-to-air heat pump standards and/or labels, such as those recently adopted by the EU.
The webinar was attended by participants from Australia, Brazil, Canada, China, France, India, Japan, Korea, South Africa, the United Kingdom, the United States, the European Commission, and UNEP.
Future SEAD AC Webinars may cover the following topics:
- Specifications for demand response-ready or "smart" air conditioners
- SEAD analysis: adoption of seasonal efficiency metrics and cost effectiveness of opportunities for AC efficiency improvement
- SEAD tools: policy analysis for standards and financing for incentive programs
- Replacement and incentive programs for AC efficiency improvement: case studies and program design insights
